The Ministry of Finance has not received any application from the Kelantan government to build a new sports stadium in Selising under the 10th Malaysia Plan (RMK10), said its Deputy Minister Datuk Dr Awang Adek Hussin.
He said as such, the matter was not discussed at the ministry level.
"As the Deputy Finance Minister, I am not aware of such an application," he told reporters after attending an election briefing for the Jelawat state constituency here today.
State Committee Chairman for Human Development, Youth, Sports and NGOs, Abdul Fatah Mahmood said on Monday that the Barisan Nasional government should provide due cooperation to the state government to develop sports in the state.
Dr Awang Adek said the state government should be responsible for the project expected to cost RM100 million and not blame the Federal Government for not being able to undertake it. BERNAMA
